Rent The Opera House

Space Usage/Rental Information

Business Meetings/Seminars, and Private Parties/Banquets

Middle New Hampshire Arts & Entertainment Center offers a range of options and rates for businesses, community groups, and private citizens to rent the space. The following outlines the basic rates and policies. Please contact us for more information, or to discuss your specific needs. Business Meetings/Seminars, and Private Parties/Banquets Private non-staged events with specifically invited guests, or open to the public but without ticket sales.

Includes:

  • Full access to auditorium for specified time period during normal business hours
  • Standard seating in orchestra level and balcony for up to 299 guests
  • Podium and microphone with house speakers

Optional additional services and fees:

Tables and chairs: Orchestra level can be set with any combination of round tables or rectangular tables (each of which seats six- to eight people) with tablecloths, and chairs. Fee: $7 per table. (Maximum occupancy if using table-and-chairs set-up is 120.)Screen and LCD Projector: $75.00

Wireless microphones (two handheld, two lapel): $75.00

House concessions: Renter can arrange for FOH to provide nonalcoholic or alcoholic beverages; bottled water and soda are $1 each; beer and wine is at cash bar rates.

Non-business hours use: If use of the space extends before or after normal business hours (9:00 - 5:00 weekdays, excluding holidays), an additional fee of $16 per hour plus 15% administration fee will apply Terms and conditions:

Smoking: The State of New Hampshire prohibits smoking in all public buildings such as City Hall and the Franklin Opera House.

Prohibited materials (safety issues): Use of any open flames is prohibited, as well as all non-fireproof items or any other flammable materials as decorations. Use of balloons or other items that could interfere with the photoelectric fire detection system are not allowed unless pre-approved, in writing, by the FOH Representative. No outside-provided alcohol is allowed on the premises unless prior approval has been given by the Executive Director or FOH representative.

Security: FOH reserves the right to require security personnel for any events it deems necessary, which, if required, will typically be arranged with Renter's advanced knowledge (at time of agreement) and at Renter's expense.

Merchandise sales by Renter: Renter may, at its discretion, sell CDs, DVDs, and other like non-food merchandise. Renter shall pay 10% of all gross receipts of merchandise sales to FOH.

Payment, reservation, and deposit: A $100.00 nonrefundable deposit and a signed contract shall be required before any reservation is secured. Renter is specifically prohibited from advertising any event at the venue, and Renter has no guarantee of use of the space, until a signed and fully executed contract is in hand. Full payment of rental fee and all other costs or fees incurred by Renter shall be made to FOH within 15 business days following the date of the event.

Maintenance/cleaning: Renter is expected to leave the space in broom-clean condition. If cleaning is required beyond what is reasonable for normal-use, Renter shall be charged a fee of $100 or the actual cost of labor to do the required cleaning, whichever is greater.

Damages: Renter shall be responsible for any and all damages to FOH or extraordinary charges incurred by FOH caused by acts of Renter, or Renter's agent, employees, guests, or other related parties.
